RYAN WINIARSKI & MEREDITH LANOUE
Have you ever wanted to leap into something big, bold and life-changing? A Suffield couple recently did when they purchased Priam Vineyards. On July 1, 2022 long-time Suffield resident Ryan
Winiarski and his partner Meredith Lanoue took over the 40-acre vineyard and 20-year old winery
business. The pair had always dreamed of a life in agriculture, and a combination of the pandemic lock-down plus the right opportunity led them to Priam.
We are pleased to welcome Ruaan Viljoen as our Winemaker. He comes to us all the way from Cape Town, South Africa, in the heart of the wine region, where he was born. Ruaan has worked in small to large scale wine production environments. With 14 vintages behind him, Ruaan has significant experience in quality and premium wine production.

History, Land & Terroir
A SENSE OF PLACE
Priam Vineyards was first established in 1998, in 2002 became a licensed farm winery, opening the winery for retail sales in April of 2003. “Terroir” comes from the word “terre” or “land”, a French term in wine used to denote the special characteristics that the geography, geology and climate of a certain place bestows upon particular produce, which then contribute to the unique qualities of the crop.
Solar & Environmental
STEWARDS OF THE LAND
In September 2010, Priam Vineyards became the first winery in New England to be completely solar powered, as environmentalists, we also practice sustainable agriculture, propagating bluebirds rather than using insecticides, to maintain a healthy vineyard. The 40 acre farm has been certified by the National Wildlife Federation as a natural bird and wildlife habitat.
FIRST VEGAN CERTIFIED WINERY IN CT
We are proud to announce Priam Vineyards has been globally certified by BevVeg International for its vegan-friendly approach to winemaking, putting Connecticut on the map of U.S. wineries to receive this seal of approval after an extensive review of its production practices from soil to bottle.
OUR POLICY ON PETS AT THE WINERY
We invite you to bring your well-behaved pooches that are comfortable with crowds along to seasonal outdoor events, and to enjoy the outdoor patio and grounds. All pets must be leashed at all times.
Only service animals are allowed indoors at the winery.
