Barbara is a loving, brave mom now raising her children as a single parent. Her estranged ex-husband is in jail on multiple criminal domestic violence charges. Determined to raise her family without violence and abuse, she is working with staff at Safe Futures to build a new, safe life for her family, free from fear.
About Family ACNL34 - Carlene age 44 | Joey age 12 | Carlos age 15 | Deanna age 14
After 18 years of demeaning verbal abuse and several brutal physical attacks, Carlene couldn’t take it any longer. She left. Her children were very supportive of leaving and moving to a new, safe place. She immediately filed for divorce and full custody of the kids. Due to medical problems resulting from the abuse, she currently is only able to work part time.
